Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Uhde USA, LLC in Houston, Texas, seeks a Sr. IT System Administrator.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement strategic IT Infrastructure roadmaps to ensure system security, reliability, performance, and availability; design, implement and optimize cutting-edge technology infrastructure
  • Automate routine tasks and write computer programs to address more complex systems software configuration and enhancements
  • Ensure implementation of, and monitor adherence to, IT security strategy, architecture guidelines and standards, as well as ensure that systems and service continuity plans are defined, in place and exercised
  • Review system requirements and prepare recommendations, and forecast and plan resource requirements and long-term investments for infrastructure needs
  • Implement change control and incident management processes.
  • Oversee preparation of regional IT cost estimates and investment requests for contracts and provide guidance for client specific data integration concepts, application interfaces and cost calculations.
  • Work from home allowed 1day/week.

Your profile

Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent foreign degree.

3 years of work experience in a system or network administration position in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Industry.

Must have 3 years of work experience with each of the following:

  • Managing IT security principles, practices, and technologies, including firewalls, endpoint security solutions, backups systems, and implementing security policies, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with company standards
  • Working with PowerShell and bash scripting languages, programming languages for automating routine tasks, configuration management, and deployment processes
  • Installing, configuring, licensing, and managing engineering software, including AspenTech, Aveva E3D, Comos, Oracle Primavera, Bentley, PTC MathCAD, Autodesk AutoCAD and Navisworks, and Trimble Tekla
  • Preparing regional IT cost estimates and investment requests for contracts, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Supporting on-premises and cloud IT infrastructures (software and services), including servers, and storage systems related to network hardware.
