Vice President, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships, Development and Communications

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid) - Strongly preferred ; Remote - US (CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NV, NJ, NY, NC, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA) will be considered

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships is one of the mission-critical leadership positions, reporting to the Chief Development & Communications Officer, to lead and build the corporate and foundations portfolio for core mission support, emergency response, and programmatic funding. This person is a highly experienced, dynamic, new business development relationship builder and team leader; who has a proven track record of bringing in new partnerships and leading a team to grow revenue. The Vice President will hold a record of generating new business in the non-profit/corporate space, developing a strong value proposition for corporate partnerships and foundations, and closing to meet aggressive revenue growth goals. Key responsibilities include the development and management of a national partnership strategy, building partnerships with companies that can have an impact on Global Health and Humanitarian relief through direct giving, brand and mission alignment, workplace giving, cause marketing and programmatic development, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is experienced in managing senior-level relationships, including board members, corporate CEO/CMOs, and deep relationships in the sector. The core areas of responsibility will include, but is not limited to, the following:

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership and Strategy



  • Drive the team's new business development strategy focused on aggressive growth goals over the next three years in core unrestricted revenue and restricted programmatic revenue goals
  • Oversee strategic implementation of portfolio growth and associated goals currently at $20M, with growth goals over the next three years
  • Lead a team of four direct reports
  • Management of budgets, executive reviews, and presentations
  • A seasoned leader who has a track record of building and inspiring high-performing teams
  • Adept at managing and providing leadership through change management
  • Experienced in representing organizations at speaking engagements, conferences and key events

New Business Development



  • Develop and execute a partnership growth strategy focused on diversification and expansion of corporate partners and foundations over the next three years
  • Bring an existing portfolio of leads and relationships to Project HOPE
  • Lead the team to ensure necessary planning and pipeline management processes are in place and being followed
  • Grow core mission revenue from $1,000,000 to $3M in next 2 years

Partnerships



  • Oversight and leadership of existing partnerships in corporate and foundations
  • Steward and cultivate for renewals and expansion of current programmatic partners
  • Create and deepen relationships through site/partner visits, corporate leadership summit and field programs visits

Brand Stewardship



  • Demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of the programs and mission of Project HOPE global health and all departments
  • Elevate the organization's brand(s) to ensure they are understood, embraced and consistently presented with new business development and existing corporate partnerships
  • Partner with teams to develop and maintain strong relationships and communications
  • Together with CDCO, develop cause-marketing and campaign plans that align with business needs

New Channels



  • With aggressive goals in core mission revenue over the next three years - look for new opportunities to expand into new channels

  • Other duties as assigned.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Min 15-20 years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience leading a successful business development team in creating and winning up to seven figure pitches
  • High energy, collaborative leader with exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and business acumen skills
  • Outstanding leadership skills with experience in building high-performing teams with the ability to manage up and out in an efficient and appropriate manner, present to multiple audiences including c-level executives, community leaders and partners
  • Experience in pitch development, presentation and award of cause marketing campaigns
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies: business vision, strategic and annual planning, accountability for results, team leadership, developing others and cross-organization collaboration
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at a time and work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Travel 30-40%

  • Typical office environment with exposure to a minimal noise level.
  • Emergency deployments may be in resource-deprived environments with austere living conditions.
  • Travel for extended periods may be by air and/or other modes of transportation.
  • While international travel is not a regular part of every job, programmatic needs may require it intermittently.



Salary range starting at $176,000 USD per year based on candidates residing in the US. Compensation for the role is dependent on several factors including a candidate's location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
