Overview / Job Summary:
The Specialist, Education Technology is responsible for providing support and expertise in integrating technology into the teaching and learning processes. This role involves collaborating with faculty and staff to enhance the educational experience through the effective use of technology.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Support the development, management, and reporting of non-credit (OPEN Education) courses, including training faculty and staff on best practices and tools for course delivery and implementation.
  • Provide managerial and technical support for Digital Badging initiatives, escalating to Tier II support team as needed.
  • Facilitates training sessions and provides ongoing support for faculty and staff in the use of HyFlex classrooms and the COLAB, ensuring effective utilization and reporting of instructional technology tools.
  • Stays current with the latest trends in educational technology to inform faculty and staff of new tools and resources.
  • Supports the planning and implementation of ITAS service projects and change initiatives, and contributes to evaluating their effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education Technology, Instructional Design, and Information Technologies or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas or Blackboard.
  • Knowledge of educational technology best practices.
  • Experience with Extended Reality (XR) technologies, including Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
  • Experience in training or teaching adults in a professional setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other educational technology applications.
