Aon Reinsurance's Capital Advisory is seeking an expert Senior Underwriter to join our leadership team and drive revenue growth through accelerating the development of prospective structured reinsurance solutions for clients in the property and casualty insurance industry. This is a unique opportunity to support a strategic priority of Aon Reinsurance Solutions and develop the Global Center of Excellence for Structured Reinsurance Solutions.

What the day will look like

Capital Advisory provides advisory services to empower decision making for clients and delivers balance sheet solutions to match risk to capital more efficiently and successfully. We develop customized strategies through a detailed understanding of an insurer's capital requirements across key partners expectations (e.g., rating agency, regulatory or investors) and the most effective sources of capital to achieve client objectives.

The Global Center of Excellence for Structured Reinsurance Solutions is responsible for the overall coordination of the structured reinsurance strategy with brokering colleagues, including identifying and developing new business opportunities, embedding standard processes to structure and price solutions, communicating reinsurance market appetite, sharing analyses of placements, and leading the risk transfer process.

Your role will be a key driver of revenue retention and growth, requiring you to build productive relationships with brokering colleagues to support existing business and identify new business opportunities, guide them through the process from submission to execution, and establish standard processes to structure and price prospective structured reinsurance solutions. In addition, you will work closely with the Global Head of Sales for Structured Reinsurance Solutions to develop placement analyses, internal communications, and client presentations.

You will be part of Capital Advisory and will benefit from the team's knowledge and experience across reinsurance, advisory, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and delivery of the Global Center of Excellence for Structured Reinsurance Solutions.
  • Drive revenue growth through developing and managing relationships with Aon brokers and reinsurance markets to facilitate a flow of new business opportunities and to maintain renewal business.
  • Implement best practices to structure and price prospective structured reinsurance solutions.
  • Support the Global Head of Sales for Structured Reinsurance Solutions to develop analyses of placements, internal communications, and client presentations.
  • Keep informed of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness, specifically in your area(s) of expertise, to be able to operate effectively and appropriately.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • 15+ years of experience in underwriting structured reinsurance at a global reinsurer.
  • Self-starter with a passion for finding new business and works proactively with internal teams to deliver client solutions.
  • Ability to develop relationships and build confidence of others (both internally and externally) based upon work performed.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and digital literacy.
  • Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks concurrently within a fast-paced, team-oriented, working environment.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $250,000 to $300,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in Aon's annual incentive plans in addition to base salary. The amount of any [bonus] [production incentives] varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
