Georgia-Pacific is seeking qualified professionals to consider for a Process Control Service Technician opportunity at our Monticello, MS mill. The desired candidate must demonstrate strategic & economic thinking, possess good problem-solving skills, and enjoy collaborating across the organization. This position supports the Quality Control Systems on the paper machines and will be responsible for maintaining the system's uptime by routine maintenance and system optimization.

Our Team

Georgia-Pacific Monticello is a fully integrated containerboard mill that employs 450 employees and continues to benefit from extensive capital investment. This position is an opportunity to be part of a rapidly expanding organization with tremendous growth potential. Monticello, Mississippi, is 25 minutes west of Brookhaven, MS, an hour South of Jackson, MS, and an hour Northwest of Hattiesburg, MS.

What You Will Do

  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on ABB and Honeywell QCS systems. Documenting calibration results, maintenance activities, and system adjustments accurately
  • Monitor system uptime and performance
  • Supporting installation, alignment, and verification of QCS sensors.
  • Respond to QCS-related alarms or process issues in collaboration with operators and process control engineers
  • Participate in on-call rotation to support QCS reliability during off-hours/start

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Instrumentation, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field, OR 5 years of process controls experience
  • Exposure to industrial automation or process control systems
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word (document creation), Excel (spreadsheets), and Outlook (email and calendar)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Pulp & Paper, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience working within a Pulp and Paper operation
  • Experience with ABB or Honeywell QCS systems
  • Experience with loop tuning or control system optimization
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
