Inova Juniper Program is looking for a dedicated HIV Health Educator to join team. This role will be Full-Time, Monday-Friday (some weekends required)

Job Responsibilities:

The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Health Educator develops and implements HIV prevention and care related education programs to educate community healthcare providers. Develops educational and promotional materials to promote and augment educational programs. Functions as a liaison to community based providers, colleges and healthcare facilities and provides policy development and technical assistance to community agencies.



  • Assists with the development of grant applications.
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of conferences.
  • Designs and distributes program brochures within timeframes defined by policy.
  • Creates curriculum modules for specific Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) prevention/care topics.
  • Identifies gaps in services by developing contacts with local AIDS service organizations.
  • Provides assistance with program/policy development to community based organizations and healthcare providers.
  • Collects data, as required, by funding source 95 percent of the time and assisting with the preparation of reports/grants.
  • Conducts needs assessments in community based organizations and healthcare facilities, as determined by grant requirements.
  • 25%-50% travel requirements in Virginia
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.


Additional Requirements:



  • Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday (some weekends required)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in related field (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 8 years)
  • Experience: 3 years of relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Master's degree
  • Experience in managing health education programs
