Processing Operator Lead- Week Day

Utz Quality Foods is on the lookout for a dynamic and driven Weekday Shift Processing Lead to join our team at the Kindig Lane Facility in Hanover, PA! This is an exciting, hands-on leadership role where you'll directly contribute to the success of our production team while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. In this role, you'll work closely with our Production Supervisor, helping lead the daily processing operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety in everything we do.

Responsibilities:

  Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to oversee and drive the daily processing activities, ensuring smooth production flow.

  Obtain forklift certification and operate equipment as needed.

  
  
• 
  

  Maintain constant communication with the supervisor to report downtime, production difficulties, and product overflow.

  
  
• 
  

  Work with plant leadership to resolve ERP discrepancies/variances and ensure efficient production operations.

  
  
• 
  

  Organize and schedule team members in a way that efficiently meets daily production goals.

  
  
• 
  

  Monitor each processing line every hour to check waste and machine efficiency.

  
  
• 
  

  Utilize UPMS, RedZone, 5S, and Continuous Improvement principles to optimize productivity.

  
  
• 
  

  Enter work orders and track preventative maintenance tasks using EAM.

  
  
• 
  

  Identify and solve any processing issues to prevent production delays.

  
  
• 
  

  Oversee and participate in the training of new hires to ensure they meet processing standards.

  
  
• 
  

  Regularly evaluate individual team performance and provide coaching to ensure consistency and quality.

  
  
• 
  

  Separate and remove questionable finished products for review by the Production Manager.

  
  
• 
  

  Follow all safety rules, work safely at all times, and report unsafe equipment or practices.

  
  
• 
  

  Participate in sanitation efforts, ensuring cleanliness of equipment and facilities, using appropriate cleaning tools and methods.

  
  
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

• Requires analytical, math and reading skills.
• Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to meet peak production volumes.
• Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Requires leadership and management to direct the department and interface with other departments
• Knowledge of designated packaging and processing operations to assist when needed.
• Capable of identifying, troubleshooting, and solving issues on the production line.
• Must be forklift and high reach certified or willing to do so
• Moderate lifting and occasional skid pulling
• Fluent in Spanish desired but not required.
