*Description*
FIT Core Infrastructure Team (C.I. Team) primary function is design and implementation of the Structured Cabling System, which is the "foundation" or Core that supports the Network Infrastructure, hence the name Core Infrastructure. In general, a Structured Cabling System consists of six components - Building Entrance Facility (DMARC/POP), Main Equipment Room (MER), Telecommunications Rooms (TR), Backbone Cabling, Horizontal Cabling, and Work Area. * C.I. Team is Responsible for: * Provide Project Start and Close-Out Documentation * C.I. Team will obtain and archive As-Built Documents, provide internal "hand-off" documents to Run Team, and support Accounts Payable with Vendor & Contractor Reconciliation, etc. * Structured Cabling System Design, Specification, and Scope. * C.I. Team will design and specify the Communications Equipment Rooms (MER & TR's), Quantity of Rooms, Room Sizing, Location, Layout and Environmental Needs (Power, Lighting, Cooling, Security, etc.) * C.I. Team will design and specify the Communications Cabling - Network (LAN/WAN, Wired & Wireless), Backbone & Horizontal Cables, Cable Pathways & Support, etc. * C.I. Team will participate in Structured Cabling Needs Assessment * Attending Project Design Meetings. * Attending I.T. Focused Meetings and Discussions with Architects, Engineers, Owners, Customers, End Users, Clinical & Information Services (I.S.) Staff. * C.I. Team will Develop & Provide Structured Cabling Requirements, Specifications and Scope, to Architects, Engineers, General Contractors, Cabling Contractors, and internal I.S. Groups, etc. * Structured Cabling Project Budgets. * C.I Team will support the Project Budgeting process by providing Scope, Vendor Quotes, Equipment List, and Pricing for the Structured Cabling System. * This includes the various Stages of Project Budgeting * Early Initial Stage 1 Estimates (Budgetary Pricing) based on Project Narrative & Schematic Drawings & Documents. * Progressing to Stage 2 Estimates based upon Preliminary Design Drawings & Documents * Then Finally the Stage 3 Budget based upon Final Contract Documents (CD's). * Structured Cabling Implementation. * C.I. Team will provide coordination, support and oversight of Structured Cabling System installation and documentation. * C.I. Team will be the single point-of-contact for items related to the Structured Cabling System, such as cabling Moves, Adds & Changes * C.I. Team will provide cabling related support to a variety of Vendors who utilize the BSWH Network, such as Surveillance, Access Control, Nurse Call, Patient Monitoring, Building Automation System, Pneumatic Tube System, Medication & Supply Dispensing, etc. * C.I. Team will "police", provide oversight for Non-BSWH Network cabling infrastructure to ensure the Enterprise as a whole builds Standards Based solutions that don't interfere, or compete with the BSWH Network. * Room UPS System Design, Budgeting and Implementation * In addition to the Structured Cabling System responsibilities the C.I. Team is also responsible for the design, budgeting and implementation of the Room UPS Systems within the MER's & TR's that support the Network & Telecom Equipment. *Skills* Project coordination, Schedule meetings, Reporting, Support, Project scheduling *Additional Skills & Qualifications* * Experience with TR buildout * Occupied Hospital Experience * Ability to walk long distances thru large facilities * Must be willing to travel around the Metroplex for discovery, photo documentation, attend meetings where Core Infrastructure is double booked and report back * PM/project coordination * Will be doing estimates, vendor management, LOE during demand phase *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
