Our cybersecurity test team is searching for new members that can help us conduct system security analysis on systems and/or software to understand and identify vulnerabilities. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Software Test Automation Engineer for the TMAS 2 Contract, supporting the 47 Cyberspace Test Squadron.

LOCATION: LACKLAND AFB, TX

JOB STATUS: FT

TRAVEL: 15%

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years of technical experience are required. Additional relevant experience may be substitute for the education requirement.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Requires an active and fully adjudicated Top Secret/SCI security clearance, and the ability to maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Knowledge of Waterfall & Agile software development methodologies.
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving skills in the area of software engineering.
  • Excellent self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Robot Framework and Selenium for automating web user interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of the following: Linux, Windows, VMware, Kubernetes, Elastic, HTML, XML, JSON, Jira, Confluence, Zephyr, Bitbucket, Docker, Jenkins.
  • Programming or scripting skillset (Bash, Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell).
  • Ability to examine and debug failures in automated scripts.
  • Software development tools and services including Git, Gitlab and VSCode.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and low-level assembly level language.
  • Network and serial communications including protocols like SSH, Telnet, HTTP, TCP/IP, FTP, and serial/console communications.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Basic understanding of Software Security and Open Source, cloud and virtualization software and services.
  • Knowledgeable in various Software Development Lifecycles.
  • Development methodologies (agile, waterfall).
  • Test automation using Jenkins (build continuous integration jobs), Robot Framework, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will assist in providing test automation research, development, test and evaluation support for all phases of test automation as the recognized technical expert.
  • Will assist in Software Engineering support, will cover entire test automation conception, emerging research and test to fielding decisions.
  • Research, design, develop, and/or modify test automation using various industry tools for systems and/or applications software.
  • Planning of system automation deployment as well as being responsible for meeting software compliance standards
  • Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system.
  • Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.
