The Import/Export Vendor Manager oversees and manages various logistics operations, ensuring efficient processes across import, export, OEM, and parcel logistics. This role involves managing relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and vendors, resolving issues related to container availability, routing, rates, delays, and diversions, as well as addressing ASN issues, EDI failures, and ensuring the accuracy of IBD creation.

Key Responsibilities:

Import Logistics:

  • Manage relationships with freight forwarders and carriers.
  • Resolve issues related to container availability, routing, rates, delays, and diversions.
  • Ensure visibility through logistics platforms.

OEM Logistics:

  • Intervene in OEM shipments and arrange final mile delivery.
  • Assume importer of record responsibilities.

Export Logistics:

  • Address warehouse team issues, carrier selection, scheduling, documentation, order delay escalation, and carrier data reporting.

Parcel Logistics:

  • Manage relationships with parcel service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with export documentation and handle customs issues.

Compliance:

  • Create and ensure accurate export documentation.
  • Classify goods for export.
  • Measure broker performance, track compliance, and respond to customs requests.

FTZ Administration:

  • Manage transactions for designated sites.
  • Ensure annual site inspections and handle random inspections.

EPA Smartway Program:

  • Prepare the report for the EPA's Smartway program.
  • Measure carbon emissions and collaborate with Sustainability.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on shipment management, carrier sourcing, arranging customs clearance, and tracking for large-scale projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Proven experience in logistics and vendor management.
  • Strong understanding of import/export regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in logistics platforms and EDI systems.

*This position is based at our headquarters in Lexington, KY and works a hybrid schedule. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role and preference will be given to local candidates.
