SUMMARY

The Manager R&D joins the Semiconductor Business Unit to lead software development sub-projects of Ansys applications such as RedHawk-SC. This role isresponsible for planning, resource assignments and progress tracking of all activities performed by the members of the team. The Manager R&D will be responsible for line management and personal development of team members, as well as the facilitation of the team's work.

The Manager leads the design and development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the Manager R&D Engineer will use expertise to develop strategic plans, refine requirements and provide technical leadership in achieving development objectives.

RedHawk-SC is the proven industry leader for power noise and reliability signoff for SoC designs.RedHawk-SC enables creation of high-performance SoCs that are still power efficient and reliable against thermal, electromigration (EM) and electrostatic discharge (ESD) issues for markets such as mobile, communications, high-performance computing, automotive and internet of things (IoT).

RedHawk-SC is a next-generation solution built on AnsysSeaScape, the world's first custom-designed, big data architecture for electronic system design and simulation.SeaScapeprovides per-core scalability, flexible design data access, instantaneous design bring-up, MapReduce-enabled analytics and many other revolutionary capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Responsible for the on-time completion of the projects assigned to team while meeting the corporate quality standards
  • Ensure that appropriate methods and procedures are followed
  • Recruits, develops, and retains high performing talent
  • Create a positive team culture that is aligned with the Ansys culture
  • Typically, will oversee and manage a single team, section, or unit. Leads planning, architecture, or research at a project level
  • Coordinates product design and development activities requiring extensive analysis in areas such as user experience, software design and solver research.
  • Develops and employs best practices and maintains them through technical reviews and mentoring.
  • Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support across multiple products. Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions, collaborating with the QA/support team
  • Researches and understands the marketing requirements for products, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 8 years' experience, MS with 6 years' experience, or PhD with 4 years' experience
  • Significant commercial experience with commercial electronics design automation tool development
  • Proven track record of successful product releases
  • Demonstrated leadership with a track record of delivering state-of-the-art results on complex problems
  • Deep understanding of C++, Python programming



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Excellent technical knowledge and commercial experience with electronics circuits simulations, numerical analysis using optimal data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial organization
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
  • Ability to translate business needs into development plans
