Blend Set Up / Grinder Relief Operator (Nights)

Bongards' Creameries is seeking a Blend Setup/Grinder Relief Operator based out of our Humboldt facility. The Blend Setup/Grinder Relief is responsible for relieving personnel associated with staging and unwrapping of cheese on their respective lines of equipment and all associated processes. Assists the Grind Room Lead with various tasks and fills in when the Lead is not available.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance to operators (machine, setup) as necessary (changeovers, breaks, etc)
• Responsible for staging cheese barrels as well as hang barrels and assist with grinding
• Record keeping of all lot numbers used for ingredients and barrels of cheese
• Maintain tanks full of butter
• Verify all barrels and blocks of cheese are opened according to blend recipe
• Verify all mold removed from cheese before going into grinder
• Communicate with lab, cook operator, blend setup, lead and supervisor
• Safe operation of high-pressure hoses
• Become trained and knowledgeable about all GMP and HACCP guidelines
• Become trained and certified on Powered Industrial Trucks
• Learn ROSS systems
• Work in a safe and proficient manner
• Perform sanitation duties as assigned by supervisor
• Report all food safety and quality problems to immediate supervisor or designated backup
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Excellent Math and Reading skills
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Must adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, other Quality guidelines
• Must maintain highest quality standards for plant and equipment cleanliness
• Must report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or designated replacement
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs

Schedule:

• Night Shift 5:30pm to 6:00am Monday - Friday, occasional Saturday, Sunday
