Senior Estimator I

M. A. Mortenson Company seeks a full-time Project Estimator in Itasca, IL. The Project Estimator is responsible for leading estimating efforts of gathering, calculating, and compiling data to produce project estimates for construction projects, including managing multiple projects. This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Construction Engineering & Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience in the construction industry. Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: (1) preparing quantity surveys and unit pricing sheets for subcontractors' completion and submission of unit price data; (2) preparing bid analysis scope sheets and reviewing subcontractor cost proposals to ensure bid proposals are complete; (3) preparing and entering estimate data in WinEst, including estimate breakdowns and alternates; (4) performing cost studies to assist design team in selection of building systems, materials, and other design requirements, and preparing estimate clarifications highlighting major scope assumptions and exclusions; and (5) preparing value engineering pricing for review by the Chief Estimator and presenting value engineering items in meetings with designers and owners. The base pay range for this role is $131,300 - $197,000.

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
