Spectra Tech, Inc. is looking for Production Supervisors at a food manufacturing facility in Memphis, TN.

The Production Supervisor will lead a team of production workers, manage resources, and coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth production processes. This role is responsible for ensuring that State and Federal guidelines are followed on the production floor and throughout the operation. The role helps drive production activities for accurate product formulations, processing methods, and protocol for quality and food safety.

Shift Schedule

There are 4 openings total:

  • 2 openings: 4:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • 2 openings: 4:00 PM - 4:00 AM

Shifts operate on a 2-3-2 schedule rotation, as follows:

Example - Workweek Starting Sunday:

  • Work: Sunday, Monday
  • Off: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Work: Friday, Saturday
  • Off: Sunday, Monday
  • Work: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Off: Friday, Saturday
  • (Rotation continues accordingly)
Essential Job Functions
  • Supervise daily production operations to meet schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols
  • Monitor and optimize the use of resources, minimizing waste and improving efficiency
  • Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of production equipment
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of production workers to ensure optimal performance
  • Provide regular feedback and conduct performance evaluations
  • Manage employee relations, resolve conflicts, and maintain a positive work environment
  • Enforce adherence to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and workplace safety protocols
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for production staff
  • Investigate and report any safety incidents or violations
  • Ensure products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee quality checks and implement corrective actions for any non-conformance
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve quality issues and improve processes
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse to prevent production delays
  • Ensure timely and efficient handling of materials to meet production goals
  • Minimize material wastage and optimize resource use during production
  • Maintain accurate production records, including logs, reports, and quality control data
  • Report production performance and any operational issues to management
  • Ensure compliance with documentation requirements for audits and inspections
  • Identify and implement process improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs
  • Analyze production data to uncover inefficiencies and areas for improvement
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement among production staff
Requirements
  • Education: College degree preferred (BS in Food Science, Engineering, or related); relevant work experience acceptable
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2-3 years in a supervisory role within food manufacturing
    • Experience with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, FDA, USDA)
    • Retort, canning, thermal processing, ready-to-eat or ready-to-serve product experience is a plus
    • Technical background with food processing experience preferred
