Inventory Support Specialist

Description

This individual will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to other RDO Equipment Co. employees and vendors involved in the shortline whole good ordering/planning process. This individual will be responsible for assisting the sales force in new equipment ordering, monitoring short line warranty, as well as assisting the field on questions pertaining to wholegoods.

Specific Duties Include:



  • Review and process orders for Specialty Product equipment based on needs and profitability.
  • Manage and maintain RDO's short line website to ensure preferred vendor agreements and contacts are up to date.
  • Provide support to the Director of Equipment and Specialty Product Equipment Manager for ad hoc requests on purchasing decisions and ordering questions.
  • Monitoring and purchasing extended warranty needed for rental and sales.


  • Work with management to ensure the equipment gets to locations with correct specifications.


  • Monitor aging equipment to fulfill sale needs instead of ordering new equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service and follow-up to questions from vendors, as well as internal customers.
  • Ensure that equipment is entered correctly in the system so that equipment can be found easily.
  • Willingness to take the lead on future and existing projects.
  • Take part in monthly inventory calls and assist in any prework to ensure a productive call for internal management.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of RDO Equipment Co.
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
  • Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Some travel maybe required for store and vendor meetings.

  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Experience with MS Excel
  • Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
