Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees and coordinates the maintenance and repair activities for the company's facilities and equipment. This role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and developing maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.

Team Management:

• Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.

Maintenance Planning:

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for all equipment and facilities.
• Identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes and recommend changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Facility Maintenance:

• Oversee routine inspections and repairs of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
• Manage the maintenance of grounds and exterior spaces, including landscaping and snow removal.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with OSHA regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for maintenance staff to promote a safe working environment.

Budget Management:

• Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including cost estimation, procurement of supplies, and tracking expenses.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inventory.

Vendor Management:

• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance services.
• Evaluate and select vendors based on cost, quality, and performance criteria.

Problem Solving:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and facility issues to determine the root cause and implement effective solutions.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed maintenance logs, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Prepare regular reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and budget expenditures for management review.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing certifications are a plus.
• Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Capability to work in various environments, including potentially hazardous conditions.

• The Maintenance Supervisor will work primarily in a [warehouse/factory/office] environment with occasional visits to external locations.
• The role may require flexibility in work hours to address emergencies and meet operational demands.

• Minimum travel required.
