Overview

Position: Systems Administrator
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Salary Range: $64,000 - $74,00 per year
Clearance: Active Q Clearance required

A variety of languages are used in developing our software applications includingJava, C#, Blazor, C++, PHP, JQuery, Go, PL/SQL, and PERL, and we develop and host and administer our own databases which include Oracle, MySQL, Mongo and SQLServer.

An assortment of methods is leveraged to realize this mission including using incremental model, agile and waterfall methodologies. Our developers are involved in every stage of the lifecycle (i.e. requirements gathering, planning, requirements analysis, design, development, integration and test, implementation, operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Candidate is responsible for developing software and hardware solutions for complex science and engineering problems throughout the Satellite/Monitoring enterprise using industry standard practices and methodologies.
We also serve as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for the GBD Payload Processor (GPP), providing project lead support and developer resources.

Qualifications

- BS/BA in Computer Science or related field. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree 6 years of job-related experience
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Must have an active U.S Department of Energy Q security clearance or U.S. Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance with reciprocity.

- Skill utilizing software diagnostic tools and the ability to conduct appropriate troubleshooting processes and conduct appropriate upgrades
- Ability to understand the application and utilization of software packages, maintain accurate records
- Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues
- Ability to define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms
- Ability to define technical standards and functionality tests, and to develop specifications, prototypes, or initial user guides.
- Computer and network troubleshooting
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with customers, vendors, & IT professionals
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with network protocols and networkmanagement technologies
- Automation platforms such as Ansible, VmWare, Python
- Experience leading and implementing large technical solutions
- RHCE/CCNA
- Experience in Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting language for automating System Admin tasks or troubleshooting existing processes
- Experience with container technology, such as Kubernetes, RKE, Docker, etc.
- Virtualization, servers, storage, and networking equipment experience
