Transfer Station Operator

Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscious Transfer Station Equipment Operator to join the team at our transfer station in Johnson City, TX.

In this position you will perform advanced driving functions operating Backhoe, Roll Off, Rear Load and Front Load trucks (no CDL required), to empty route trucks daily. You will be responsible for routine inspection and maintenance on the equipment such as checking oil, water, and tires.

You will also be responsible for the operation of the transfer station according to the operations plan.

As an operator of the transfer station, records and maintains a daily operation record, per facility requirements.

Operates compactor to processes solid waste from the tipping floor into the transport receiver box.

Assist, direct, and instruct patrons in proper disposal methods. Good communication skills are a must.

Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility are maintained in a safe and professional manner.

This is a physical job working outside in all weather conditions.

Monday-Friday shift, 6am-5:30pm.

Job Requirements

• Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to operate an excavator.
