Inside the Role

At Daimler Truck, our Driver Experience team focuses on the digital on-truck solutions and works hand in hand with design, engineering, and product strategy teams globally. We develop HMI platforms for our Daimler Truck vehicle products and provide innovative HMI solutions to our customers and their drivers across our global brands and markets.

We are seeking a highly motivated Development Engineer II to shape the future driver experience domain for Daimler Truck and its brands. You will work on the component development for one of our HMI ECUs. This will happen in collaboration with our global team, driving component related topics and ensure you deliver quality on time.

Position offers a starting salary range of$86,000 - $110,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, andexperience

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Lead the global development of our Daimler Truck HMI ECUs (Instrument Cluster & Infotainment)
  • Manage our global HMI ECUs
  • Align and manage scope definition and scope changes incl. bug fixes
  • Create, align, track, maintain the component timeline globally
  • Coordinate global stakeholders (e.g. requesters, implementation teams, supplier, projects)
  • Develop and document component requirements incl:Regulatory requirements (e.g. country certification), Diagnostics requirements, Functional safety requirements
  • Ensure implementation and validation/verification of components with internal and external partners
  • Create and document component parameters
  • Create documentation, reports, presentations
  • Report on status incl. risks and mitigation plans on a regular basis

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and prefer 2+ years of relevant experience
  • 3+ years in ECU development
  • Tools: Vector tools, Monaco, Diagnostics Link, Jira, Confluence, Cplace, MS Office
  • Strong background in ECU development incl. processes, methodologies, and tools
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience with automotive development processes preferable with Daimler Truck
  • Experience in Engineering of commercial vehicles preferable Daimler Truck products
  • Analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong skills in communication and team coordination across global teams (considering different cultural backgrounds) especially with the US, Germany, and India
  • Pro-active, self-confident, self-dependent attitude
  • Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change required.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Experience with Daimler Truck HMI Component Development
  • Experience with engineering Daimler Truck products
