The Category & Insights Consultant will develop and implement retail initiatives to meet and exceed Hershey and Dollar General objectives. The Category & Insights Consultant will be an expert in the pervasive application of insights to fuel retail growth. Key to role is synthesizing business trends, competitive trends, shopper insights, financial insights, etc., to identify opportunities and develop solutions to drive retail growth across the store. The Category & Insights Consultant will influence and support 3-year and annual planning through pervasive use of insights and capabilities. Why the Dollar Team? Role Responsibilities: Dollar General (DG) Seasons Category Captain: Holiday + Easter * The Indispensable Category Partner to the DG Senior Buyer and Assistant Buyer * Works with Hershey Seasonal Category Consultant to drive strategy Responsibilities: * Support the retailer teams with development and execution for Holiday and Easter * Serve as an expert across the organization * Drive Seasonal strategy, tracking and analysis across the organization * Analyze merch mixes to forecast performance * Pilot new capabilities to drive total solutions * Assist with Seasonal POG lifecycle * Be the expert on SOLVE and act as the bridge between the retailer teams and development team * Analyze data and trends to develop a DART Strategic Framework * Complete cross-functional projects with internal teams such as sales, category management, marketing, shopper insights and demand planning * Develop and present seasonal content directly to retailers * Utilize strong technical skills to gather, and present complex data What You'll Need to Succeed: * Customer Service Orientation * Planning and Organizing * Business Acumen * Advanced Analytic Skills * Strong problem-solving capabilities * Sales and Persuasiveness * Intellectual Curiosity * Impactful data-driven story telling experience * Project Management and organizational skills * Advanced understanding of Consumer/Shopper Behavior and Market Research Strategies * Technical skills to include JDA/Blue Yonder, IRI/Nielsen, Numerator or Panel data, Tableau, 1010Data, advanced Microsoft Office * Category Management experience (3-5 years) * Knowledge of Category Management processes and CPG Industry trends * Bachelor's Degree required 25% travel required.
