Position Summary

The Recruiting Manager at HED plays a key leadership role in building the firm's talent pipeline through innovative, technology-enabled recruitment strategies. This individual will partner closely with operations leadership and hiring managers to determine staffing needs, extend offers, and attract diverse, forward-thinking professionals who reflect HED's values of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. This role leads the full recruitment lifecycle, oversees third-party recruiting partnerships, and may occasionally supervise recruiting and administrative support staff. The Recruiting Manager brings both strategic vision (40%) and hands-on practical execution (60%) to elevate HED's talent acquisition practice in alignment with our culture of design-driven impact and human-centered growth.

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with operations and hiring managers to determine staffing needs and extend employment offers.
  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process including strategy, sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding in collaboration with hiring managers.
  • Screen resumes and conduct phone interviews with candidates.
  • Use the ATS system and other tools to manage candidate information, generate reports, and conduct recruiting status meetings.
  • Administer appropriate company assessments, when applicable.
  • Perform reference and background checks.
  • Make recommendations to internal hiring managers.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and/or local HR generalists as needed.
  • Follow up on interview process status with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Maintain relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved.
  • Communicate employer information, benefits, and role expectations during the screening process.
  • Communicate employment-related sponsorships and visa inquiries to HR and keep them informed throughout the offer process.
  • Stay current on company structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
  • Serve as a liaison with third-party sourcing entities, colleges, and industry associations.
  • Complete timely reports on employment activity and recruiting metrics.
  • Assist with corporate initiatives and support HR communications and process improvements.
  • Analyze employment-related data and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Conduct training related to talent acquisition, employment retention, and HR initiatives.
  • May assist HR Generalist and Office Managers with tasks including onboarding, exit interviews, and posting updates on the intranet/ALVIN.
  • Represent HED at recruiting events, conferences, and on social platforms to enhance employer brand presence.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all recruitment practices.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience, in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of Human Resources and/or Recruiting experience, preferably in the A/E industry.
  • Proven experience utilizing AI-based recruitment technologies and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Demonstrated success in managing third-party recruiting vendors.
  • National or state-recognized HR certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal and applicable state employment laws.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and across teams.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, ATS, Employee Self-Service, and HRMS software.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in writing and verbally via phone, video conferencing, and in-person.
  • Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
  • Moderate travel as needed.
