As an on-site Pulp Mill Support Specialist, you will act as the local pulp mill process and chemical expert, providing technical support. Your primary focus will be providing customer value through current applications and service. You will be required to support pulp growth and defense opportunities and ensure that best practices are followed on Solenis applications. You may be required to provide training to support trials with new equipment or chemicals.

Key Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

  • Provide comprehensive support for pulp mill operations, ensuring the effective, economical, and safe utilization of chemicals and equipment. This entails collaborating closely with sales management to develop and execute chemical programs.
  • Conducting necessary testing at the account to verify the safety and efficacy of treatment programs is essential. In the event of issues, proactive engagement is key, promptly addressing concerns and collaborating with the sales management and customer teams to devise corrective strategies. Data analysis plays a crucial role in evaluating program performance, aiding in decision-making processes for ongoing improvements.
  • Lead meetings with the customer teams weekly and/or monthly
  • Communicate and merchandise Solenis service, process improvements, trial reports and related information

Education:

  • Science/Technical Degree; or equivalent relevant industry experience.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of pulp mill experience, with expertise in brown stock washers and chemical applications
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Skilled in troubleshooting complex issues and managing multiple projects independently.
  • Experience learning new concepts and/or technology and applying them
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Documented results making process improvements, solving complex and non-routine technical problems
  • Ability to work with autonomy
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
