FSP - Manager, Site Agreements - Remote US

Job Overview:

Manages and executes the delivery of knowledge management, investigator grant estimates and/or site agreement negotiation services within geographic area of responsibility. Actively leads, develops, supports, and contributes to the continuous improvement of department processes and procedures and ensures compliance with Fortrea's risk management strategy for allocated services. This may include but is not limited to risk mitigation strategies, document repository, and commercial reporting systems. Provide operational, budgetary, and personnel leadership to a team of Site Agreements staff who are responsible for delivering the allocated services. May be responsible for the fiscal management of allocated services including department budgeting and cost management, proposal/budget reviews, revenue recognition, units billing, identifying out of scope activities, and preparing change in scope documentation as required. Responsible for managing contracts tracking, status systems, and directs the maintenance of paper and electronic file systems within his/her assigned area of responsibility. Manager, Site Agreements liaises closely with other managers, Director (all levels) and Fortrea Legal to ensure consistency in adoption and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and agreements. Line manages Specialists and Associates.

    Summary of Responsibilities:

    • Assist in development and ongoing improvement of departmental processes and procedure.
    • Manage assigned studies with careful compliance with internal processes and procedures, or otherwise according to specified Sponsor requirements.
    • Actively support departmental and company contract reporting through use of departmental systems and defined processes including Site Agreement Management System ("SAMS") and other departmental systems.
    • Manage activities and monitor performance of direct reports to ensure effective performance of function.
    • Provide regular coaching and counselling, mentoring, training, development, and performance management of direct reports on adherence to timelines, scope of work and budget hours with support from line manager.
    • Proactively develop, communicate, and implement procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
    • Review timesheets. Review and approve vacation/time off requests and coordinate vacation/time off schedules.
    • With support from line manager, interview and select qualified departmental personnel.
    • Recommend, review, and approve personnel actions, including hiring, promotions and raises. Partner with Human Resources in the handling of disciplinary issues. Prepare and/or approve appropriate personnel action paperwork.
    • Identify training and development needs of direct reports. Under direction of line manager, oversee the implementation of training programs, including onboarding and orientation; monitor training programs to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
    • Support line manager and Human Resources to develop job descriptions for subordinate positions; ensure communication of duties and responsibilities to direct reports.
    • Identify and escalate problems or issues as defined in departmental processes and procedures and escalate to line manager for review along with proposed solutions.
    • Responsible for ensuring quality of tasks delegated to and completed by direct reports.
    • Including, ensuring that assigned team's work delivery meets the company, department, and customer standards for accuracy and timeliness.
    • Accountable for staff efficiency and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and project instructions, timelines, and study budgets for area of responsibility.
    • Manage staff in accordance with organization's policies and applicable laws.
    • Promote and support the implementation of the company's adoption of company-wide risk management initiatives, contracting policies, and other corporate goals as directed by line manager, Director (all levels) and other stakeholders.
    • Under the guidance of line manager, determine how and when to work outside the scope of the position to enhance the department's delivery and effectiveness.
    • Support line manager in implementing strategic initiatives to improve the quality of service and efficiency of the site agreement's function and work with line manager to develop implementation plans.
    • Recommend improvements to company contractual templates on an ongoing basis in response to emerging trends, customer preferences, and the company's risk management posture.
    • Prepare and deliver performance reviews; review performance and appraisals initiated by direct reports.
    • Work closely with line manager, learning and development and other departments to develop and deploy training programs.
    • Manage the individual study budgetary performance of direct reports within the allocated region or for allocated services.
    • Responsible for the management of resources and hours necessary to successfully deliver services under your area of responsibility by direct reports.
    • Collaborate with operational, Finance and Budget and Proposals staff to produce contracts that accurately reflect the company's obligations or rights and understandings with third parties.
    • Perform other duties as required by the Department.
    • All other duties as needed or assigned.

    Qualifications (Minimum Required):

    • Recommended:
    • Bachelor's degree (LLB, JD, BA, or BS) preferred; university-level law degree preferred (EMEA).
    • Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.
    • Language Skills Required:
    • Speaking/Writing/Reading in English, and fluent in Local Language from the Region.

    Experience (Minimum Required):

    • Minimum 10 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the job.
    • 5 years or more related experience in a Contracts department or equivalent experience in a law firm or other professional environment working with contracts, with at least 3 of those years serving in a management capacity.
    • Prior line management experience required.

    Physical Demands/Work Environment:

    • Travel Requirements:
    • Travel is primarily Internal and to Client meetings up to 10% of the time, with overnight stays needed as per management approval.
    • Training or presentations pertaining to site contract/budget processes.

    Pay Range:$90-125,000 annually based on level
