This state-of-the-art, 750k sq ft, greenfield plant is expected to be operational in late 2025 and will lay the foundation for fairlife's next phase of growth as the leading dairy nutrition provider. While coupling the industry's latest technologies and fairlife's operational excellence to build this world-class facility, fairlife plans to hire 250 new employees and bring in approximately 5 million lbs. of milk a day, with room to grow over the coming years. job purpose: The Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator (EHS Coordinator) will help administer the Environmental, Health & Safety program activities for the Webster production facility. This position will provide a comprehensive range of Environmental, Health & Safety support and service to the Sr. EHS Manager, site management, and staff and assists in the development and implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety programs. In the absence of the Sr. Environmental, Health & Safety Manager, the EHS Coordinator will assume manager duties and responsibilities. responsibilities:
- Helps administer the Environmental, Health & Safety systems for the facility
- Provides guidance and consultation to management in aspects of environmental, health and safety compliance.
- Implements environmental, health & safety programs, services, strategies, and initiatives that are responsive to the needs of the company's facilities and guarantee close integration with overall company policy; monitor program efficiency, develops reporting procedures and other methods to measure success, and revises processes and procedures as necessary to improve program effectiveness.
- Provides day-to-day guidance and support to management regarding environmental, health & safety practices, interpretation of company environmental, health and safety policies, and compliance with federal and state law.
- Performs monthly safety and environmental inspections including stormwater, SPCC, and audits.
- Assists with incident reviews for all incidents that result in a Workers Compensation claim while working closely with the Human Resources Department.
- Administers the response to, and investigation, of reports of hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions; reviews recommendations and/or takes appropriate action to mitigate potential environmental risks.
- Performs training needs analyses, as appropriate, and initiates, develops, and/or coordinates the implementation of specific training and development programs for management, staff, and operators; conducts new employee orientation and associated activities for Environmental, Health & Safety systems.
- Manage inventory of EHS supplies including First Aid Cabinets, PPE vending, respiratory protection, etc.
- Support facility Sr. EHS Manager with environmental compliance reporting requirements.
- Participates and leads Safety Committee meetings and serves as a member of the Food Safety Team.
- Tracks and reports on safety KPI's and safety performance for their site.
- All other job-related duties as assigned.
skills/qualifications required:
- Associate's Degree in EHS or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years' experience supporting site safety within a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to organize resources and establish priorities.
- Highly organized, with the ability to meet critical deadlines.
- Skilled in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues, and to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Ability to manage projects through completion with limited oversight.
- Ability to analyze and assess training and development needs.
- Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and able to develop and deliver presentations.
- Knowledge and understanding of federal and state environmental laws, regulations, procedures, and standards.
- Ability to manage all records and documents pertaining to regulatory compliance.
- Ability to manage all employee health & safety requirements and regulations.
- Working relationship with OSHA, NYSDEC, NYSDOH, NYSDOL, USDA, FDA, and the Town of Webster.

- Reaching/bending requirements - less than 2 hours/day.
- Exposure to hazards (machinery, confined spaces, etc.) - Must utilize proper PPE in these environments.

- Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.

- Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system
- Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
- Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
