Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Imaging in the multi-center I-SPY 2 TRIAL, a large NIH-funded adaptive clinical trial which aims to accelerate development of new breast cancer treatments.

The Project Analyst oversees and resolves operational aspects of the Imaging Core Laboratory, which manages imaging data submission, protocol compliance review, image analysis, and site communication for hundreds of patients at 16-20 participating centers around the United States.

Based on functional tumor volume and other quantitative MRI measures assessed at the Imaging Core Laboratory, decisions are made about adaptive randomization and changes to patient treatment.

Responsibilities associated with this position are substantial with the recent renewal of NIH Program Project Grant "I-SPY2 +: Evolving the I-SPY 2 TRIAL to include MRI-directed, adaptive sequential treatment to optimize breast cancer outcomes" (P01 CA210961; Co-PIs: Laura Esserman and Nola Hylton).

In 2022, the Program Project implemented an advanced trial design in the I-SPY 2 TRIAL ("I-SPY 2+") that uses imaging measurements to direct individual treatment strategies in an attempt to provide personalized care for patients. The incumbent will be required to develop and operationalize more complex imaging protocols, increase image compliance standards, and enhance site monitoring for imaging processes in I-SPY 2+. Effective collaboration with a diverse range of colleagues, including study sponsors and monitors, clinical research coordinators, site clinicians, MRI technologists, and scientific researchers is essential.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
