Position Summary

The primary role of this position is to perform fitting and welding using FCAW, GMAW and GTAW processes in the fabrication, assembly, repair and maintenance of structures, subsea hardware, and other components manufactured by Global Machine Shop.

LOCATION:
Requires daily onsite attendance; this is not a remote-work position.


Duties And Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL:

  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components together in accordance with Engineering drawings or schematics.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts using FCAW, GMAW and GTAW processes.
  • Perform welding in accordance with Engineering approved welding procedures.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Handle both ferrous and non ferrous materials.

ADDITIONAL:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum five (5) years experience fitting and welding with FCAW and GMAW processes on carbon and stainless steels.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience fitting and welding with GTAW process on carbon and stainless steels.
  • Must be able to pass AWS D1.1 and D1.6 welder performance qualifications in all positions on plate and pipe.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft 365 or similar software.

DESIRED:

  • Previous welder performance qualifications to AWS D1.1, AWS D1.6, or other industry welding codes.
  • Experience with alloy steel welding (e.g. 4130).
  • Experience with aluminum welding using GTAW process.
  • Familiarity with subsea hardware and structures.
