Family Food Truck Site Assistant

THIS IS A SEASONAL TEMPORARY POSITION THAT WILL RUN FROM MAY 27, 2025 to AUGUST 1, 2025

Hours are Monday-Friday 3pm to 7:30pm

Summary/Primary Purpose: Responsible for providing mobile feeding for The Salvation Army's Family Food Truck Program and ensuring program compliance with SFSP and ServSafe rules and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for making deliveries for the summer feeding program.
2. Use strong customer service skills daily when interacting with volunteers and program participants.
3. Loading and unloading of trucks, including food and food service supplies
4. Accurate completion of daily pick-up logs, mileage logs, daily transportation & safety checklists, and driver checklists.
5. Prepare the truck for food service at each distribution site, including trash.
6. Engage with participants and enforce program participation rules and guidelines.
7. Responsible for keeping the vehicle clean and in proper working order in accordance with food safety cleaning procedures.
8. All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education and/or Experience: High School Graduate or GED

• Lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
• Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.

Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None

Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in standing and moving position 90% of time. Heavy work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.

Working Conditions: The worker is subject to hazards including close proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to heat and cold or exposure to chemicals.
