This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week.

Job Summary
The Lead Worker for the linens provides general direction to and communicates with the linens crew(s) and performs the full range of dry cleaning and linens duties, under the direction and oversight of the Supervisor. The Lead Worker for linens is responsible for ensuring the linens crew(s) completes daily linens folding, sorting, organizing, labeling and movement to and from the loading docks, staging areas and dormitories, under the direction of the Supervisor. Responsible for completing dry cleaning payment processing, sorting and other related tasks in accordance with contract and customer service standards for the FBI and DEA customers and students.

Primary Duties

  • The Lead Worker for the linens provides general direction to and communicates with the linens crew(s) and performs the full range of dry cleaning and linens duties

  • The Lead Worker for linens is responsible for ensuring the linens crew(s) completes daily linens folding, sorting, organizing, labeling and movement to and from the loading docks, staging areas and dormitories

  • Responsible for completing dry cleaning payment processing, sorting and other related tasks in accordance with contract and customer service standards for the FBI and DEA customers and students

  • Review linens storage areas to ensure a clean and neat appearance, and reports needs for additional supplies, equipment or other recommendations to the Supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cleaning schedules to meet short and long-term goals.

  • Train staff in proper linen service and dry-cleaning procedures and equipment usage.

  • Secure designated locations, equipment, supply and linen.

  • Open, close, lock, and unlock facilities as needed.

  • Keep records of work completed.

  • Assist team in collection, distribution, loading and unloading of laundry bins located throughout the facility.

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

  • Must be able to pass and maintain a Tier 5 FBI Security Clearance.

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.

  • One (1) year custodial experience required

  • Two (2) years dry cleaning, laundry or custodial experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of standard linen service and dry-cleaning procedures and equipment.

  • Knowledge of the use of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

  • Ability to read and understand labels and instructions.

  • Strong commitment to high level of service and quality standards.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, develop and lead teams.

  • Ability to plan and organize.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to build rapport and teams to achieve a common purpose.

  • Ability to think objectively and solve problems.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The incumbent works on a daily basis with dangerous and toxic cleaning products that can be very harmful to one's health if not properly utilized. The incumbent also regularly cleans up blood, saliva and other bodily fluids that are unpleasant to deal with. The condition of washrooms is often unpleasant.
