Description: TEKsystems is seeking 1 Entry to mid-level Network Operations Technician for our Anchorage-based client. This position will be full-time and provide support remotely however this candidate will need to be physically located in Alaska. This resource will primarly be working from home. However, they will need to sit in the State of Alaska and be present on site in Anchorage during the fist 3 months of training. A CCNA certification is highly preferred but not required. Technician I, Network Operations The Network Operations Technician will provide network surveillance, management, troubleshooting response, and trouble resolution of the company's Access Network equipment and/or Core Transport Network in order to provide the highest level of network availability by restoring service and minimizing call out of field technicians. Essential Duties of the Network Operations Technician: * Monitor the network and associated network elements; investigating and determining the cause of network events and alarms. * Perform network troubleshooting and corrective maintenance. * Respond to and isolate outages, working with the appropriate technical groups to restore service. * Initiate disaster recovery actions as required. * Interact with the company's customers, internal employees, and vendors in a professional manner to resolve issues at the lowest level and as timely as possible * Compile and submit notifications and reports on network status and activity. * Initiate notifications to management as determined by protocol. * Other duties as assigned to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of the company network. Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: * Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team. * Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. * Knowledge of Cisco and Windows OS and associated applications. * Superior interpersonal and professional skills; able to handle stress when working with customers and/or other employee issues with diplomacy, tact, and concern. * Must have a high degree of self-initiative and be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with independent decision-making. Entry-level technical position to provide on-shift surveillance, management, troubleshooting response, and trouble resolution. Must have a basic understanding of telecommunications, and the ability to follow documented procedures. Skills: CCNA, Cisco Device configuration experience Experience Level: * Entry Level Workplace Type This is a hybrid position in Anchorage,AK. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
