Full-Time Job Description
Overview of the Position: The Compliance Specialist will oversee all aspects of trade compliance, ensuring the company adheres to U.S. import/export regulations, including ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) requirements. This role involves acting as the primary contact for import/export-related questions, conducting training, managing documentation, and ensuring full regulatory compliance. Additionally, the Compliance Specialist will manage specialized customers and/or projects with complex operational needs, identifying unique requirements and coordinating resources to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. The manager will coordinate with internal departments, foreign trade teams, and government agencies to ensure adherence to trade regulations and company standards. Education / Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D; Preferred: Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 3 years of experience in trade compliance, logistics, or a related field. Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, and other U.S. trade compliance regulations. Experience managing government orders and packaging requirements is a plus. Other Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
