bioMerieux - Salt Lake City is looking for a talented and engaged Software Engineer to contribute to the internal software applications that support our cutting-edge, life-saving medical devices. The successful candidate will work with a project team to scope, design, and develop software applications. They will have excellent communication and collaboration skills and experience working as an active member of software development teams.

Our team works on desktop and web-based applications for internal customers. We focus on quality, emphasizing clean and maintainable code. We work in a highly collaborative environment, from pair programming with fellow software engineers to problem solving with colleagues from other departments. Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities -

  • Read and interpret software specifications and develop against those specifications
  • Write and maintain high-quality code
  • Ensure, whenever possible, that software defects that are discovered can be reproduced
  • Continually update technical knowledge and skills
  • Participate effectively in technical reviews as both a reviewer and reviewee
  • Foster a collaborative and cooperative work environment

Minimum Qualifications -

  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering, scientific, or technical field.
  • Experience: 1+ years of work experience software development or a related field.

Skills -

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with C#/.NET (or another object-oriented language)
  • Interest in Test Driven Development
  • Desire to be involved in analysis, design, research, and development
  • Windows OS experience
  • Source control
  • Defect tracking
  • Build systems
