PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Coordinates the development and promotion of safety programs and initiatives that proactively impact the GROWMARK System.

Assists safety staff in development of, as well as promotion of policies, programs, and procedures regarding regulatory compliance, industry safety standards and GROWMARK expectations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Continuously looks to expand knowledge of OSHA, DOT, DHS, and relevant State regulations.

Utilizes internal data systems and external resources to facilitate development of leading/lagging indicator metrics.

Expected to be a solution minded resource for affected parties throughout GROWMARK and the FS System.

Performs in-depth regulatory research on relevant issues with written summary and analysis upon request.

Collaborates to craft and distribute essential regulatory communications and training throughout GROWMARK and the FS System as needed, necessary, and appropriate.

Has the primary responsibility for Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management. Has shared responsibility for collaborating with and provides technical support to product divisions to setup new items that require a SDS and maintains the DOT hazardous materials shipping descriptions for those items.

Provides guidance on the transportation of hazardous materials to the GROWMARK System and manages the Ag Chemical Shipping Papers and the Permanent Shipping Papers.

Provides support and training as necessary relative to the LMS and other online platforms such as Riskonnect.

Manages DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing in collaboration with a third-party vendor and completes the DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing MIS Data Collection Form while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.

Primary responsibility for maintaining the Unified Carrier Registration renewal, FMCSA MCS-150B, PHMSA Hazardous Materials Certificate of Registration renewal, and FMCSA Safety Measurement System (SMS) monthly notifications, and FMCSA Clearinghouse annual queries.

Provides guidance to GROWMARK, Inc. and retail divisions relative to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) compliance. Gathers relevant security information from GROWMARK, Inc. facilities and prepares and maintains information submittals to DHS.

Collaborates as appropriate with other GROWMARK divisions and departments when needed to provide essential resources.

Assist with coordination of safety training sessions and schools to include registration, arranging venues, food, and training records.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Acts as a liaison with regulatory agencies.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a college degree in safety, environmental, or equivalent thereof, with a strong interest in regulatory research.

Requires professional communication and customer service skills.

Requires the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Proven ability to maintain complete confidentiality.

Requires skill, ability to learn, and relative proficiency with the Microsoft 365 suite of products.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, and satisfactory driving record. Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight and be able to work extended hours when necessary.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
