Lead Packaging Engineer

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is looking for an Engineer to join the Packaging Team of theStructures Engineering Design Team/Department.In this role, one would lead vehicle system-level and component-level packaging efforts, guiding them from initial concept to production, and work closely with subsystem engineers to ensure packaging feasibility within the primary zones of the vehicle architecture.

• Identify interference conditions and feasibility challenges, and develop solutions to address them
• Leverage kinematic models to generate clearance envelopes for accurate spatial planning
• Manage packaging issues by creating, assigning, and tracking them, while coordinating regular packaging review meetings with key stakeholders until achieving resolution
• Perform benchmarking analysis and maintain a database of dimensional benchmarks
• Assist in the development of general layout drawings and master sections
• Analyze surfaces, working closely with designers to ensure production feasibility and alignment with vehicle systems
• Collaborate across functional teams, including manufacturing, to ensure the feasibility of assembly processes

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent from an ABET-accredited or equivalent program
• 3+ years of vehicle packaging experience
• Expertise in CATIA /Creo with demonstrated skills
• Excellent communication skills and abilityto operate effectivelyindependently and across functions in a global team environment
