#upjobs The University of Missouri School of Medicine University Physicians Job Description
#upjobs Meet with and educate new clinicians as they onboard with University Physicians. Review documentation practices of existing clinicians for accuracy, compliance with applicable billing guidelines, and optimization of reimbursement. Provide widespread education on changing guidelines and other practices impacted by new legislation and/or guidelines. Attend Revenue Cycle meetings with Divisions to identify educational opportunities. Work with Professional Coding and Revenue supervisors to identify and address educational needs for clinicians. Maintains knowledge of current and developing issues and trends in medical coding and documentation. Maintains knowledge and expertise in electronic software tools (IDX, Cerner, Optum, etc.) Conducts audits of professional coders within UP. Conducts audits of clinicians dropping charge orders. Other duties as assigned, including special projects assigned by organizational leadership. Shift
Shift Type: Primarily M-F 8am - 5 pm or M-Th 6:30am-5pm This position is eligible for University Physicians work from home program. Is partially remote. Flexibility for Alternative Schedules: Yes Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired. Three (3) years of experience in healthcare patient accounts or coding. Preferred Qualifications
Education: Certification in one or more of the following is preferred: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPC-H),), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CCP). Other coding and/or billing or compliance certifications by reputable certifying agencies (AAPC, AHIMA, and HCCA) are acceptable. Will need a copy of the certification Anticipated Hiring Range
Hiring Range: $52,666 - $83,179 Application Materials
