Position Summary

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays a pivotal role in aligning business objectives with employees and management across designated business units. This position acts as a consultant and is the first point of contact to managers and employees providing HR expertise that drives key HR programs in areas such as employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, and compliance.

Job Duties

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related matters, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
  • Build strong relationships with employees and managers.
  • Address employee issues, conflicts, and grievances in a fair and consistent manner providing a positive work environment.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or disciplinary matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws.

Talent Acquisition and Onboarding

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to recruit and onboard top talent for both exempt and non-exempt positions.
  • Manage job postings, screen candidates, and coordinate interviews to ensure a seamless recruitment process.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations to promote employee engagement and understanding of company culture.

Talent Management

  • Support the performance review process, ensuring employees and managers set clear goals and conduct regular feedback sessions.
  • Coach managers on handling performance improvement plans and addressing underperformance.
  • Assist in developing employee development plans to promote career growth and skill enhancement.
  • Partner with leadership to develop and implement workforce plans, including staffing models, talent assessments, and succession planning.
  • Support workforce planning efforts, including tracking open positions and forecasting staffing needs.

Workforce Engagement and Retention

  • Partner with leadership to implement employee engagement initiatives that enhance workplace morale and reduce turnover.
  • Support workforce planning initiatives and trends and the impact on business.
  • Coordinate employee programs and events related to employee recognition, retention, and workplace culture improvement to promote a positive work culture.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze turnover trends, recommending strategies for improvement.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives, along with data related to turnover, absenteeism, and engagement to identify trends and recommend solutions.

HR Policy and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FLSA, OSHA, EEO, FMLA, and ADA).
  • Educate employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS system and ensure compliance with document retention requirements.

Training and Development

  • Assist in identifying training needs and coordinating learning opportunities for employees and managers.
  • Facilitate HR-related training sessions, such as harassment prevention, workplace safety, and performance management

Internal Communications

  • Assist in identifying training needs and coordinating learning opportunities for employees and managers.
  • Create clear, consistent, messaging for internal campaigns, announcements, and change management efforts.
  • Assist with designing visual content and graphics to support communications across multiple channels, including email, newsletters, and digital signage.
  • Assist with maintaining the company intranet, ensuring up-to-date, relevant content and a user-friendly interface.
  • Plan and coordinate key messages and logistics for all-employee meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned*

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of five years of HR experience required, with at least two years in an HRBP or similar role in a manufacturing environment preferred. Previous experience supporting hourly and salaried employees in a fast-paced environment.

Tools

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, HRIS. Experience with Canva or similar graphic design tool is desirable.

Licenses/Certifications

SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and/or Certified HR Business Partner (CHRBP) highly desirable.

Working Conditions

Office setting within a manufacturing environment. May be exposed to loud machinery and dangerous chemicals when on the plant floor. Must be able to occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds unassisted.
