Position Description:

Job Title: Mid-Level Provider in Pediatric Urology

Location: Milwaukee Main Campus and Outreach Locations

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mid-Level Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Pediatric Urology team. The primary focus of this role will be in the outpatient setting, providing high-quality care to pediatric patients with urological conditions. The successful candidate will work at our Milwaukee main campus as well as various outreach locations, ensuring access to specialized care for children in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of pediatric patients with urological concerns.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the pediatric urology team.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding urological conditions, treatment options, and follow-up care.
Outpatient Management:
  • Manage a diverse patient caseload, including follow-up appointments and assessments for various urological conditions such as hydronephrosis, urinary tract infections, and congenital anomalies.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
Procedural Responsibilities:
  • There is the potential to perform minor outpatient pediatric urology procedures as needed, under the supervision of a board-certified urologist. Examples include catheter placements and circumcisions.
  • Assist in the preparation and follow-up care of patients undergoing outpatient procedures.
Outreach Services:
  • Participate in outreach programs to extend pediatric urology services to surrounding areas, ensuring access to specialty care for children in the region.
  • Collaborate with community providers and organizations to promote awareness and education about pediatric urological health.
Continuous Learning:
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in pediatric urology and best practices through ongoing education and professional development.
  • Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Previous experience in pediatrics or urology is not necessary. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is a team player and looking to develop a unique expertise in the realm of pediatric urology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and family interactions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Work Environment:

  • This position will primarily be based in outpatient settings, including our Milwaukee main campus and various outreach locations, requiring flexibility to travel to different sites

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Wisconsin.
