Pahrump Valley Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a Diesel Mechanic to join our team inPahrump, NV! Schedule isTuesday -Saturday, 10:30AM-7:00PM. JOB SUMMARY:Performs routine maintenance and a variety of repairs on heavy equipment and our fleet of vehicles at the hauling site by performing the following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS: * At least 2 years of diesel mechanic experience. * Valid Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment. * Clean driving record. * Able to work utilizing safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, uniform, and hearing protection (PPE). * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to write routine reports and correspondence accurately. * Ability to speak effectively to employees of organization. * Ability to read and write in English. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. * Willing and able to work weekends as needed PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. * The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; push and pull tool box weighing up to 100 lb. WORK ENVIRONMENT: * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of radiation, and vibration. * The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. * The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, earplugs required.
