Think Consulting is actively seeking an Assistant Principal to join a transformative educational institution in Baltimore, specializing in special education for students with unique learning needs.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Curriculum and Accommodations: Develop curriculum and accommodations tailored to the needs of special education students.



  • Educational Philosophies: Apply knowledge of contemporary educational approaches such as brain-based learning, Project-Based Learning, Restorative Practices, PBIS, and the school's Transformation Education model.



  • Leadership Support: Assist the Principal in defining the school's mission, goals, and expectations, and act on their behalf in their absence.



  • Policy and Compliance: Ensure compliance with school policies, regulations, and operating procedures, maintaining a working knowledge of relevant guidelines.




Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:


  • Student Placement and Services: Assist in determining and implementing school organization, student placement, evaluation, and services to meet individual student needs.



  • Communication: Communicate effectively with all school stakeholders, both orally and in writing.



  • Business Management: Support the Principal in managing school finances and business operations.



  • Modeling Professionalism: Demonstrate cooperation, collaboration, and positive interactions, setting an example for staff and students.



  • IEP Support and Compliance: Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs, ensuring compliance with special education regulations and due process.




Education Qualifications:


  • Maryland professional certificate from the Maryland State Department of Education as a Special Education Supervisor or Special Education Assistant Principal (required)



  • Valid Maryland professional teaching certificate in special education with a minimum of 3 years of satisfactory teaching experience in special education (required)
