Vice President of Public Safety Georgetown University comprises two unique campuses in the nation's capital. Requirements Job Overview The Vice President of Public Safety, Office of the Chief Operating Officer - Georgetown University, provides strategic leadership, vision, and oversight for all aspects of public safety across the institution. This senior leadership role unifies and integrates key safety-related functions under one organization to serve the diverse needs of the campus community. The Vice President oversees university police, public health, fire safety, emergency management, international safety, Clery compliance, and environmental health and safety-totaling approximately 100 staff. They establish a shared strategy and organizational culture rooted in community engagement, service, accountability, and operational excellence. Duties include but are not limited to:
Direct emergency preparedness, public health response, and Clery compliance efforts Work Interactions This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and serves as the University's senior-most leader for public safety. The Vice President supervises a multi-disciplinary team of directors and senior managers from multiple public safety domains, and collaborates closely with executive leadership, campus stakeholders, and external agencies. The Vice President is a key member of Georgetown's leadership team and plays a visible role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of students, faculty, and staff. They work in close coordination with partners in student affairs, legal, communications, and government relations, as well as federal, state, and local emergency management and enforcement agencies. Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $275,000 - $350,000 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
