Job Summary

As an Application Monitoring Engineer, you will be working as a core member of the IT Service Management team to support the event management practice. You'll be joining a small, forward-thinking team that is driving improvements in monitoring practices and aligning with the DevSecOps continuous monitoring discipline. In this role, you'll be responsible for configuring and managing enterprise monitoring tools that support on-premises infrastructure, cloud environments, applications, and third-party solutions. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their skillset and work across IT teams.

Job Responsibilities



  • Monitors and analyzes the performance of enterprise applications and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Works with infrastructure teams to ensure that systems are provisioned and configured to support optimal application and monitoring performance.
  • Collaborates with other IT teams to ensure that applications and systems are designed, developed, and deployed with performance and monitoring in mind.
  • Recommends and implements solutions to improve application and system performance monitoring, such as system tuning, code optimization, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Identifies and resolves technical issues that impact monitoring coverage, system availability, and application performance.
  • Experience with or ability to develop skills in the following areas:

    • Scripting/programming (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)
    • Integration technologies (REST APIs, SOAP-based web services)
    • Infrastructure and application monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, SolarWinds, cloud-native monitoring in Azure or AWS)
    • Windows and Linux operating systems
    • Basic SQL query skills and data analysis
    • Virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware)
    • Containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
    • Agile methodologies and technical documentation
    • Application management and troubleshooting




Job Qualifications



  • 0-3 years of experience in Application Performance Management or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field and/or commensurate experience.
  • ITIL v4 Foundations certification preferred.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.



Location

Hybrid defined as three (3) or more days per week in the office.
