What You Will Do:

As an Automation Analyst, you will play an essential role within our IT, reporting to Manager OT Communications. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:



  • Support the configuration and maintaining the software and hardware infrastructure to maintain flow computers and remote terminal units (RTU's).
  • Maintaining, programming and updating flow computers, programmable logic computers (PLC) and remote terminal units (RTU's).
  • Support Measurement and OT departments with control panel builds and test lab work.
  • Assist with device troubleshooting in the field and test lab.
  • Create interface maps, including protocol and register locations for data in Flow Computers and RTU's to be configured in SCADA system.
  • Install, test, calibrate, program, and maintain electronic measurement and control devices.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.


What You Will Bring:

Required Qualifications



  • Twp-year degree in Electronics, Electronic Instrumentation or related field required.
  • Minimum of two years' progressively responsible work experience, including substantial experience in Industrial Control and/or SCADA systems and related protocols (OPC, Modbus, ControlNet, DeviceNet, HART, etc).
  • Proficient in programming and use of the following automation systems:


    • Flow Computers (Emerson ROC, Omni, Flowboss)
    • Allen Bradley ControlLogix Siemens S7, GE RX3i


  • Proficient with IEC 61131 Industrial Automation languages


    • Ladder Diagram
    • Function Block Diagram
    • Structured Text
    • Instruction List
    • Sequential Function Chart


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to use/learn other technologies.
  • Must possess a valid Alaska Driver's License and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the ENSTAR's Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass a background, past employment, credit, drug, and driving record screening.

  • Excellent analytical, project management and organizational skills with the ability to evaluate data.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to effectively work with contractors, consultants, governmental agencies, and other departments/personnel to accomplish ENSTAR's objectives.
  • Ability to manage and support multiple projects.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to make independent decisions based on available information.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and is open to take on a variety of operational challenges.
