This position is for the State-aligned Nursing Assistant program at the USU Eastern campus in Price, Utah. The advertised position is a teaching appointment compromised of 95% teaching and 5% service. The program will enroll the maximum number of students as regulated by the state accreditation agency - Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR) at each location. Instruction is to be provided according to program schedule. The faculty member will be responsible for initiation and implementation of a successful Nursing Assistant pathway program, which includes sustainable enrollment. This position will require the candidate to split time between the USU Eastern campus and Emery High School campus to teach the following courses: Nursing Assistant Emery Campus Medical Terminology Emery Campus Anatomy and Physiology Emery Campus Training for the USU Nursing Assistant Coordinator Position - tasks as assigned The estimated start date is August 1, 2025. UNAR accreditation standards will be followed in the hiring of this position. Responsibilities Acts under the general supervision of the Health Professions Program Supervisor. Ensures that the program is conducted in accordance with all federal regulations, state rules, and UNAR policy. Maintains accurate documentation of student attendance and skill development. Ensures that the approved Utah Nursing Assistant Registry Nursing Assistant Curriculum guides classroom instruction. Maintains the classroom and lab to UNAR standards. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies and equipment. Works with CTE Pathway Programs to recruit Students into the Nursing Assistant program classes. Ensures that every student whose name is completed has met all completion requirements. Performs other related duties as requested by the Health Professions Program Supervisor and the office of the UNAR. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Must be a licensed registered nurse (RN) with a minimum of two years of nursing experience; at least one year must be in the provision of long-term care facility services or caring for the elderly or the chronically ill of any age. Must be a reasonable candidate for approval by UNAR. UNAR approval requires the following: Completion of UNAR Instructor approval packet. Licensed nurse in good standing with the Utah Department of Professional Licensure. A resume showing 2 years of nursing experience; explicitly detailing at least 1 year of experience in the provision of long-term care facility services or caring for the elderly or chronically ill of any age. Must have completed a UNAR-approved "Train the Trainer" program or demonstrated competence to teach adult learners. Fingerprinting and background check.
