Position Summary |
The Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Head and Neck Surgeon to join our esteemed medical team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in minimally invasive surgical techniques, particularly in the treatment of head and neck cancers. This role requires a commitment to preserving functional outcomes for patients and a strong background in translational research.
Key responsibilities include performing advanced surgical procedures such as transoral robotic surgery (
TORS) and endoscopic skull base surgery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with head and neck cancers, and leading and participating in clinical trials and research initiatives focused on head and neck cancer genomics. Additionally, the candidate will provide mentorship and training to medical students, residents, and fellows in the Department of Otolaryngology, and engage in community outreach and education efforts to raise awareness about head and neck cancer prevention and treatment. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
- MD or DO required.
- Board eligible or board certified in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine within the state of North Carolina.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in academic and clinical settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a dedication to patient care and education.

- Fellowship training in advanced surgical techniques such as transoral robotic surgery (TORS) and endoscopic skull base surgery.
- Proven track record in clinical research, particularly in cancer genomics.
