Property Risk Consultant: Claim Preparation and Valuation Team, Aon Global Risk Consulting

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Claim Preparation, Advocacy & Valuation team.

The qualified candidate will report to Manager based in Connecticut who reports to the New York, NY office. The candidate will be expected to travel as needed to meet client and manager needs but will primarily work virtually with periodic visits to the office depending on location of candidate and proximity to Aon office(s). The preferred geography is Northeast.

What the day will look like

As respects property damage and business interruption claims

  • Review, audit and analyze accounting books and records, financial documents, or other financial reports - P&L's, budgets, inventory, revenues, value of production, invoices, bank records, expenses
  • Data entry and statistical analysis
  • Process information - compile, categorize, calculate, audit, verify information and data. Double check for accuracy
  • Communicate to team members on workload, status of projects
  • Work with Insurer Representatives during claim process
  • Track time and expense for client billing and internal usage.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Mathematics and Accounting Principles - Using mathematics and advanced accounting principles to solve problems
  • Ability to be proactive and to prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • Interpersonal & teamwork- Working cooperatively with others - peers, supervisors, direct-reports, clients, adjusters, auditors and building relationships to mutually achieve the goals
  • Technical Insurance Knowledge - have knowledge of basic principles of insurance, the roles of the players and how property insurance coverage applies
  • Deductive Reasoning - the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Mathematical Reasoning - the ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem
  • Oral Expression - the ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
  • Written Expression - the ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand
  • Delegation - be able to juggle client demands with management responsibilities and delegate tasks to others.
  • Strong computer skills in MSOffice
  • Travel - job requires domestic and potentially international travel

Education: Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university. Accounting degree strongly preferred. On track for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License or Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) license; preferred but not required

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $120,000 to $130,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
