As the Product Manager, Senior, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the product lifecycle for a global product portfolio within the Couplings division of the Integrated Powertrain Solutions (IPS) segment of Regal Rexnord. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Identification and assessment of new product introduction opportunities
  • Development/enhancement/evolution of product positioning - Four P's, Lead Product strategy
  • Multi-year portfolio roadmap development/evolution - product line simplification, 80/20 quads-based strategic execution
  • Construction, maintenance, and thorough communication of product value propositions to relevant stakeholders

The product portfolio for which the Product Manager, Senior is responsible is global in nature, spanning multiple brands, industry verticals, geographies, and production locations. This role is a critical link between multiple adjacent functions, including Business Development, Pricing, Marketing, Strategy, Commercial Operations, SIOP/Supply Chain, Engineering, Plant Management, Sales, Finance, and Executive Leadership. The Product Manager, Senior must bring an ability to influence multiple stakeholders, engage with customers, and proactively problem-solve to drive favorable P&L results and shape the portfolio in accordance with the long-term vision simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire life cycle of the defined product line within the business from strategic planning, product definition, tactical launch and end of life activities.
  • Perform 80/20 analysis on products, customers and markets to identify opportunities for focus and growth.
  • Direct the implementation of the global product line strategic plan to prioritize and maximize company and product line profitability and investments.
  • Develop & implement product line simplification strategies to maximize standard profit.
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with Global Pricing team in defining product pricing strategies that maximize profitability while maintaining/enhancing competitive position and defending/growing market share.
  • Determine customer needs and desires through VOC, and link VOC directly to product portfolio strategy.
  • In collaboration with Strategic Marketing and Business Development Teams, assess, understand, and react to key vertical markets and competitive landscape. Maintain a strong understanding of relevant market size and growth expectations, competitor portfolios and strategies, and implications of all of the above for product portfolio strategy.
  • Prepare and coach customer-facing teams on product strategy and value propositions, product application information, product portfolio changes, and profitability equations.
  • Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge and functioning as 'subject matter expert' for product portfolio.
  • Work with the Marketing Team to create and maintain marketing plans, advertising and sales tools.
  • Support global strategic planning, AOP, and policy deployment processes as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Marketing, Economics, or Engineering field (MBA preferred but not required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous product management, brand management, and/or business development in a manufacturing company environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% including primarily in North America, with occasional international travel as needed.
  • Proven passion for technology, innovation, customer engagement, and a 'do whatever it takes' attitude.
  • Growth mindset and willingness and ability to function as the 'mini-GM' of a product portfolio.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders independently.
  • Familiarity and experience with stage-gate New Product Development (NPD) and portfolio management processes.
  • Familiarity and experience with product lifecycle simplification and/or rationalization processes.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel / Word / Power Point) and CRM (i.e. SalesForce.com or Microsoft)
