Position Purpose

As the OpenSky Head of Credit Acquisitions, you will lead a team responsible for developing and maintaining the acquisitions credit strategy for a credit card lending business. We are looking for an experienced credit thinker with exceptional business judgment, analytical skills, strategic thinking, and leadership skills. You'll work with executive leadership to shape recommendations, playing a pivotal role in OpenSky's expansion from secured lending to unsecured lending. This is a hands-on leadership role with the opportunity to lead an expanded team over time after demonstrated success. The leader who takes on this role will have an opportunity to impact the bottom line, and they will need an eye for careful risk management.

Position Responsibilities



  • Establish strategy for launching unsecured credit card product, including product strategy, channel strategy, eligibility criteria, and long-term testing roadmap
  • Develop and manage credit policies that align with OpenSky's strategic objectives and risk appetite
  • Leverage sound business judgment to evaluate analytical results and formulate recommendations
  • Lead development of valuations model to drive data-backed decisions
  • Identify potential credit risks and develop mitigation strategies. Utilize advance analytics to inform rule and policy decisions.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on industry best practices
  • Manage overall project deliverables and timelines, ensuring results are delivered on time and with quality
  • Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership, influencing company business strategy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across the organization to bring strategies to market
  • Oversee the credit portfolio, monitor performance, and implement strategies to optimize credit quality and profitability over time
  • Lead, elevate, and scale a high-performing team



Minimum Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in a Quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business)
  • 7-10+ years of experience in advanced analytics, including developing credit policies in unsecured lending
  • 5+ years of experience developing and implementing credit policies, underwriting frameworks, and customer valuations models
  • 2-5+ years of experience leading analytical teams
  • People leadership experience: Prior experience effectively managing, scaling, motivating, and developing a high-performing team



Technical Knowledge and Skills



  • A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics
  • Have an ownership mindset and exceptional project management skills
  • Highly proficient with analytical tools such as Python and SQL
  • Relentless persistence in solving problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills: ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex analytical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to set priorities in a multi-task environment and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to work both independently and part of a team.



Working Arrangements



  • This is a hybrid role expected to work in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. You will be able to work remotely on Wednesday.


Compensation



  • Base Salary Range: $170,000 - $220,000 annually. Final determination of where you are at in the salary range is based on numerous factors such as relevant experience, skill set, education, and ability to meet qualifications within the job description.
  • Additional Compensation: This role will include a yearly annual target bonus based on individual performance.
