Key Duties:



  • Responsible for performing routine mechanical repairs on company/customer's equipment including trucks, trailers, tanks, engines, engine components, and subassemblies.
  • Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose routine problems with company and customer equipment.
  • Perform repairs on customer equipment, including routine repairs, brake jobs, wheel seals, lighting repairs, cab repairs, king pin, drive train and suspension, external engine components to include starting and charging systems, electrical and cooling systems.
  • Identify and request parts necessary to complete repairs and routine maintenance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to established guidelines and schedules.
  • Complete all work orders and time sheets in a legible, accurate and timely manner.
  • Consult with supervisor to ensure accuracy of diagnosis and approval for repair work.
  • Provide assistance to maintenance coworkers consistent with skillset as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Participate in and promote company safety program.
  • Participate in company sponsored continuing education courses as required.
  • May assist or direct lower level Mechanics in completing work assignments as necessary.


Required Skills, Experience, and Education:



  • High School diploma or GED
  • Technical degree, certificate, or diploma in diesel engines, or equivalent amount of experience
  • 3+ year experience in vehicle maintenance industry
  • Ability to attach test instruments to equipment, read dials and gauges, and diagnose malfunctions
  • Self-starter, responsible and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Class-A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), preferred
