THE ROLE

We are hiring a highly skilled individual with a passion for Workday to join our team as a Workday Architect. This is a critical hands-on role responsible for ensuring the realization of the full potential of the Workday products. This role will lead efforts to design and configure all aspects of Workday to align with the organization's business process needs and requirements. The responsibilities include high level system architecture, mapping workflows, creating data structures, managing integrations, and defining security protocols across the various modules. The successful candidate will lead a hybrid team of direct reports and vendors to fulfill the organization's requirements. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure adoption, automation, and optimal utilization of Workday features.

The Workday Architect is a lead role and part of WittKieffer's Corporate IT team and will have a system administrator as well as external resources reporting to them. The successful candidate will be a great collaborator and leader that is confident in leading and directing the work of others.

Work will be conducted in a remote environment. This position offers a base salary of $165,000-$185,000, plus a target bonus of15% of base salary.Salary within our ranges is determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning, Collaboration, and Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor technology resources performing system administration, maintenance, documentation, and end-user support.

  • Engage and direct the work of third-party vendors.

  • Create and manage a cross-functional governance board, including HR, IT, and finance to prioritize support and enhancement requests.

  • Create and maintain product roadmap strategy including project, resource, and change management plans.

  • Stay informed about Workday updates and industry best practices.

  • Work with IT counterparts to create a cohesive enterprise architecture with a focus on technology consolidation and simplification.

  • Aid in creating governance standards around data, architecture, development practices, and release management.

System Design and Configuration:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into successful Workday configurations.

  • Lead architectural discussions, providing technical expertise and guidance.

  • Design and lead the implementation of Workday solutions that enhance efficiency, scalability, maintainability, and security.

  • Lead the configuration of business processes, security roles, and data structures within the Workday platform.

  • Collaborate directly with vendors and product offerings to stay informed of and implement product enhancements, releases, and fixes.

  • Monitor and approve configuration, solution architecture, and development.

Workflow Mapping and Optimization:

  • Analyze existing workflows and identify areas for improvement.

  • Map out end-to-end processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Optimize workflows to enhance user experience and streamline operations.

Data Management and Integration:

  • Integrate Workday with other systems (such as HRIS, payroll, finance, and CRM) to ensure seamless data flow.

  • Lead efforts to troubleshoot data-related issues and maintain data integrity.

Security Protocols and Compliance:

  • Establish security protocols for user access, data privacy, and role-based permissions.

  • Lead efforts to ensure compliance with Workday security standards and regulations. Provide best practice consul and security audits as needed.

  • Conduct regular security audits and address any vulnerabilities.

Change Management and Technical Training:

  • Lead change management initiatives related to Workday implementations and upgrades.

  • Track and improve system adoption through change management and communications.

  • Lead efforts to create and maintain technical documentation for system processes.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required; a concentration in computer science, information systems or technology is preferred.

  • Workday Certification(Workday HCM, Financials, or Integration) required.

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Workday Architect or similar role.

  • 10+ years of experience as technical product/project/program manager.

  • Strong understanding of Workday modules (e.g., HCM, Financials, Payroll).

  • Proficiency in Workday configuration, security, and reporting.

  • Experience directing technical activities of third-party vendors and/or partners.

  • Experience with the recruiting and/or executive search industries is a plus.
