Under general supervision but according to established policies and procedures, operates a cash receipt system to record, collect, and distribute cash transactions. Performs a variety of bookkeeping duties and closes out cash register at end of scheduled shift.

Experience:
Six months' experience cashiering in order to be familiar with cash register functions

Skills:
* Skill in basic financial analysis for bill computation, payment processing and discrepancy recognition
* Skill in written and oral communication
* Ability to perform non-complex arithmetic in receiving money and making change
* Ability to operate the cash office with minimal supervision or assistance.

Patient & Workplace Safety:

  • Employee has knowledge and understanding of patient and workforce safety as it relates to job duties.

Patient Population:

  • Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and applies the knowledge to meet age-specific needs if applicable.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Accepts sealed daily cash deposits from Point of Service Cash locations
* Makes bank deposits daily and forwards copies of validated deposits slips to Finance
* Makes change for departments, employees, and or visitors to the hospital.
* Collects daily cash logs and verifies the deposit to the log
* Disburses petty cash reimbursements upon review for correct documentation and submission of paperwork to ensure adherence to policy.
* Monitors and distributes pre-numbered GBMC cash receipt tickets and deposit slips to the unit. Accounts for the receipt numbers issued by recording name and sequence of receipts on an internal log.
* Reconciles cash and receipts at end of scheduled shift. Ensures cash drawer has proper level of cash, obtaining change as necessary.

Pay Range

$16.74 - $23.21

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
