Job Description

Overview:

We're seeking a hands-on Maintenance/Preventive Maintenance Engineer with at least 3 years of experience, ideally in the automotive industry, to join our team. You'll help keep our equipment running smoothly by planning preventive maintenance, writing clear work instructions, training teams (without managing them directly), and optimizing spare parts inventory. You'll lead improvement projects, use data to boost equipment uptime, and support cost-saving efforts, all while tracking key metrics like MTTR and MTBF. If you're proactive, organized, and love solving problems, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and improve preventive maintenance to keep equipment running with minimal downtime.
  • Write clear, easy-to-follow work instructions for maintenance tasks and preventive maintenance.
  • Train maintenance teams and operators on how to follow instructions (no direct team management).
  • Help define and manage spare parts inventory, setting stock levels, response times, and quantities.
  • Lead Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) efforts to improve equipment reliability and safety.
  • Dig into equipment issues using root cause analysis to fix problems for good.
  • Drive projects to boost equipment uptime and support cost-saving initiatives.
  • Track and analyze KPIs like MTTR and MTBF to make smart maintenance decisions.
  • Work with production and engineering teams to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance, training, spare parts, and project progress.
  • Ensure all work follows safety rules and company standards.
  • Mix of office and shop floor work, with some exposure to machinery and storerooms.
  • May involve occasional weekend or shift work for projects or training.
  • PPE required in some areas.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or similar.
  • Experience: At least 3 years in maintenance engineering, preferably in automotive or manufacturing.
  • Proactive and eager to improve processes.
  • Organized, with a knack for details (especially for instructions and inventory).
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Committed to safety and getting the job done right.
  • Skills:

    • Know-how in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 Whys).
    • Ability to write clear work instructions for maintenance tasks.
    • Experience training teams to follow maintenance procedures.
    • Hands-on experience managing spare parts inventory (stock levels, timing, quantities).
    • Understanding of reliability practices and improving equipment uptime.
    • Familiarity with MTTR and MTBF metrics.

  • Other Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
    • Great communication for training and working with teams.
    • Comfort with tools like CMMS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

  • Bonus Points:

    • Automotive industry experience.
    • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar certifications.
    • Familiarity with predictive maintenance or inventory management systems.
